Individual trauma coaching
A steady place to understand what you have lived through—and decide what comes next.
Trauma can affect how you see yourself, how safe you feel, how you relate to others, and what you believe is possible. Teresa offers individual coaching for people who want a compassionate, judgment-free place to put experience into words, recognize what is still shaping the present, and begin moving forward at a pace they can sustain.
You may recognize yourself here
The past may be over, while its effects are still present.
- You survived childhood abuse or an unsafe early home.
- You have lived through a controlling or emotionally harmful relationship.
- Fear, shame, anxiety, grief or self-doubt continue to affect daily life.
- You find it difficult to trust your own perceptions, needs or decisions.
- You want to rebuild your voice, confidence, boundaries, identity or sense of purpose.
- You want faith or creative expression to have an appropriate place in your process.
You do not need a diagnosis or a perfectly defined goal. A first conversation can begin with what feels most present now.
What Teresa brings
Professional experience. Lived understanding. A deeply human way of listening.
- 01
Lived Understanding
Teresa’s perspective is informed by surviving childhood abuse and by living through a marriage marked by narcissistic patterns and emotional harm. She understands how long-term abuse can affect trust, identity, voice, boundaries, and the ability to imagine a different future. Her own recovery was gradual and included faith, therapy, forgiveness, and creative expression. That experience taught her not to present coaching as an instant solution; therapy was part of her personal recovery, not a service she provides.

Nursing Experience
Teresa trained and worked as a registered nurse, including extensive work with cancer patients and their families. She accompanied people through fear, anxiety, uncertainty, grief, changing identities, and difficult transitions. That experience continues to shape the patience and care she brings to coaching.

Faith & Creative Expression
With a BA in Music Education and years of writing and songwriting, Teresa understands that some experiences are difficult to reach through ordinary conversation alone. When appropriate for the individual, coaching may make room for journaling, music, creative reflection, prayer, or meditation.
Teresa is an author, musician and songwriter. Christian faith is foundational to her perspective; faith-based practices are invitational and guided by your comfort.
No rigid formula
The work begins with the person—not a predetermined program.
Teresa does not place every person into the same sequence. Coaching is shaped around what you are experiencing, what feels most important, and what kind of support helps you remain engaged without feeling rushed.
- 1
Begin where you are
Identify what brings you to coaching and what feels most pressing.
- 2
Name what is happening
Find language for fears, patterns, triggers, losses, needs, and hopes.
- 3
Explore what supports you
Consider practical, reflective, creative, and—when desired—faith-grounded practices.
- 4
Choose the next step
Turn insight into realistic decisions, boundaries, conversations, or actions.
The path may move back and forth. Progress is not measured by telling the story perfectly or moving quickly.
What the work may include
Different ways to reflect. Room to find your own.
Reflective conversation
A calm place to speak honestly without being judged or hurried.
Narrative and journaling
Exploring how past experience has shaped the story you tell about yourself.
Voice and creative expression
Music, writing, songwriting or art prompts when these help expression.
Faith and reflection
Prayer, scripture or meditation when this is meaningful and welcome.
Everyday foundations
Noticing routines, nourishment and choices that may support steadiness.
Boundaries and self-trust
Strengthening the ability to recognize needs and make intentional choices.
A place to begin
You do not have to know exactly what to say.
If you are considering individual coaching with Teresa, begin with a message. You can share as much or as little as feels appropriate and ask the questions you need before deciding whether the work feels like a good fit.
